North Baltimore, OH (June 1, 2012) - Bakers from across North Baltimore participated in the Briar Hill Community Pie Bake-off on May 24.

The pies were judged based on appearance and taste by a judging panel made up of Kathy Healy, Village Administrator, and Rhonda Robinson, Briar Hill's Assistant Director of Health Services. Awards were given for first, second and third place.

The Pie Bake-off winners were:

• First Place: Shelly Coykendall for her Peaches and Cream pie

• Second Place: Sherry Phillips for her Strawberry pie

• Third Place: Katrina Livingston for her Coconut Cream pie

Third place winner Katrina Livingston commented, "I usually bake for kids and for the holidays, but when I heard about this event I had to give it a try!"

A variety of pies were entered in the bake-off including chocolate chip banana, , butternut cream, and pineapple. Contestants were also invited to sample their competitors' pies, which were all determined to be delicious.

The campus plans on hosting another pie bake-off in the future.
