William "Bill" Lee Crouse, 70, of North Baltimore, died at 11:55 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green.
He was born on June 1, 1943, in Findlay, to the late William Clair and Lorelia "Shorty" (Bechtel) Crouse. Bill married Sharon M. McCartney on October 6, 1968, and she survives. Also surviving are their three sons: Clair Crouse of Cygnet, Ray (Barb) Crouse of Cygnet and Brent (Leanne) Crouse of Deshler; and nine grandchildren; his sisters: Iona Davis and Carol Smith, both of North Baltimore. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Lee Crouse.
Bill retired from Ohio Operating Engineers as well as the North Baltimore Fire Department, where he was the Fire Chief from 1986-1991. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served 4 years for our country.
He was a member of the North Baltimore Masonic Lodge #561, North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2633.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Reverend Bob Neuhard officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore, where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, where a Masonic Service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
