The North Baltimore High School Marching Band began practicing at Powell Elementary School last week and will continue through this week (July 10-20) in preparation for the new school year.

The band does most of their marching drills outside, in the morning hours when it is cooler. Then after lunch, the band takes it inside, because of the intense heat wave that we currently have in our area.


Because of the heat, the percussion section is practicing inside in the Powell Gym during band camp.

The band will perform at the first football game on Aug 24th, one week prior to school starting.

With the move from the old high school on South Second Street, the band is now sharing the "practice field" at the Powell playground/track, with the NBHS Tiger Football team.
