Downtown North Baltimore is getting a work of art in the form of a historical mural on the North Main Street wall, facing south, on the west side.



Local attorney George Thompson unveiled the concept for the mural at last week's NB Rotary Club meeting. The mural, to be painted by Stephen Muldoon, who is associated with the renowned Wyland Galleries, was in NB earlier this year, talking to locals, photographing area views and visiting historical venues, in preparation for this huge undertaking.

Thompson is working with the North Baltimore Area Chamber of Commerce to raise a minimum of $25,000 toward the expenses and additional Green Space development. He hopes to raise much more, with the help of local persons, businesses, as well as national support by large businesses and industries. The NBACC has made a donation of $2,500 towards the project and Thompson has made a large personal donation as well.
