Friday, August 10, 8:30pm: “Late Summer Insect Symphony”
What is making that noise? Meet at shelterhouse #3 off of Township Road 229 to take an evening hike and learn about cicadas, crickets, katydids and more. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
Saturday, August 11, 9:30pm-11:30pm “Perseids Meteor Shower Hike to the Dam”
Meet at shelterhouse #3 off of Township Road 229 for a 1 mile night hike to the dam. There we will watch the northeastern sky for nature’s annual meteor shower show! In event of overcast skies, the night hike will still occur. Bring a blanket to sit on and a flashlight.
Sunday August 12, 1-3 pm "Magnificent, Magical Monarchs and Captivating Caterpillars!"
Butterfly Rearing Station Open House:
Visit the park's monarch butterfly rearing station. Live monarch caterpillars and butterflies will be on display. Parking at the "East Camp" campground entrance, on Township Road 218, 1/2 mile east of the TR 218/TR 229 intersection.
