St. Luke’s Lutheran Church -- Thursday and Friday, April 17 and 18
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in North Baltimore will commemorate the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday, March April 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Pastor Ralph Mineo’s Maundy Thursday sermon will be: “Soul Food.”
Following Holy Communion, the Altar Guild will conduct the traditional stripping of the Altar (symbolic of the humiliation of Jesus).
Worship concludes with the Order of Tenebrae (a symbolic darkening of the worship space to symbolize the crucifixion)
The congregation will hold Good Friday Worship at noon on April 18. The service will include hymns, Taize music, scripture, prayer, and a sermon: “The Torn Curtain.” Community members, including those who can take an hour lunch break, are invited to attend.
