The North Baltimore and Elmwood High School Golf teams faced off in the Inaugural SouthWood Golf Title Match in Battle at Birch Run.
NB came out on top, shooting their season average, 166 on the always challenging back nine at the local links.
Elmwood (176) put together a solid round with consistent scores, but could not match the NB pair of Corey Bean and Jacob Frost, who "went low"! Bean fashioned a fine 37, to claim medalist honors. Frost, who scored a 40 earlier this week, continues to improve, firing a 38.
NB's scoring was rounded out by Chad Wright with a 45 and Brock Boyer, on a rare off-night, shooting a 46. NB's other scores were Garrett Boyer - 47, Rachel Peters - 48 and freshman Morgan Rose recording her first birdie in a match, shooting a 59.
In shooting 176, Elmwood had Kayleb Stuff at 41, Trevor Robins shooting 43, Marc Day had 45 and Nate Ramsey carded a 47.
The Tigers have Midland Athletic League Shoot-outs next week (NEW format) Wednesday at Loudon – Meadows and Thursday at Mohawk C. C. (Tiffin).
