Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the preserve in search of wildflowers and wildlife.

Baldwin Woods Preserve

Euler Road Access, Weston

They're back and there's nothing like colorful spring blooms to warm our hearts after the long, cold winter. Look for trillium, lupine, columbine, and more.

William Henry Harrison Park

644 Bierley Avenue, Pemberville

For children 3-6 years of age. Participants will enjoy a short story and a craft. Adult companions must remain with children for this program.

William Henry Harrison Park: Riverview Shelter

644 Bierley Avenue, Pemberville

What fish are swimming in our local rivers and streams? Guest speaker Todd Crail will be on hand to search for the hidden treasures of the Portage River. Wade into the river to assist in netting fish to study on shore. Bring waders or come prepared to get wet; a limited number of waders will be available.

Ride with a Ranger

Meet at SET: Black Swamp Preserve

Come out and enjoy a leisurely bike ride on the Slippery

Elm Trail from Bowling Green to Portage and back. Meet at the Maple Street parking lot in the Black Swamp Preserve.

Join Hands Day

Saturday, May 3; 10:00 a.m. - Noon

Wood County Historical Center

13660 County Home Road, Bowling Green

Help improve wildlife habitat and beautify your parks. Join the Wood County Park District on this national day of service. Volunteers may be working outside, so please dress accordingly.

Planting Natives

Thursday, May 8; 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Slippery Elm Trail at Portage Road

The native plants that were grown in the Park District's greenhouse are ready to plant in the parks and preserves. Join us as we plant some at the Rudolph Savanna. Tools will be provided. Dress to work outdoors and bring gloves if you have them

Bluebird Trail Maintenance

Monday, May 12; 6:15-7:45 p.m.

Baldwin Woods Preserve

14080 Range Line Road, Weston

Join a newly formed group of volunteers to help naturalist staff maintain paths for bluebird nest box monitoring. Bring work gloves and dress for the weather. Loppers, pruners, and other equipment will be provided.

Native Nursery Nights

Thursday, May 15; 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Reuthinger Preserve

30730 Oregon Road, Perrysburg

Join us on Thursday nights this summer at the Native Plant Nursery and Greenhouse at Reuthinger Preserve. Volunteers may be asked to plant, water, weed or collect seed. Dress to work outdoors and bring gloves if you have them.
