Main Building Comes Tumbling Down
by Russell Bretz
The regular meeting of the North Baltimore Local School District was held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 5:30pm in the Wolfe Community Room of the North Baltimore Public Library.
After a brief report from Treasurer, Eve Baldwin, and administrative reports which can be read elsewhere in this publication, the Board heard some comments from Superintendent, Marlene North concerning the Main Building demolition and the progress of the Larry Woodruff Sports Complex.
Apparently some rumors have been floating around town that the land space which the former MS/HS was located has already been sold. Not true. The School Board passed a resolution at this meeting to authorize the sale, at public auction, of the approximately 4.1 acres.
Some other details have to be worked out with village officials as to the best use of the land after it is sold. The process will be disclosed to any and all potential buyers before the sale. No date has been set for the sale and no offers will be taken until the appropriate information needed is in place.
