Wood County Hospital Offers Free Mammograms for the Uninsured
Wood County Hospital is offering free mammograms for men and women who do not have health insurance or are not able to afford these lifesaving screenings. A physician order is required in order to schedule the mammogram.
Wood County Hospital is one of six hospitals in the Northwest Ohio region in partnership with The Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio to offer free mammograms to the uninsured through funding from the Northwest Ohio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The project will impact Wood County and surrounding areas by increasing mammography rates and increasing breast health knowledge.
Appointments for the mammograms can be made at the Wood County Women’s Center by calling 419-354-8743 and using the code word “PINK.” Individuals who do not have a family doctor and would like a mammogram can call the Wood County Health District’s Women’s Breast Health Program at 419-352-8402.
