Upcoming Programs at the Wood County Park District
(Programs are free unless otherwise stated.)

Scarecrow Making Workshop
Tuesday, October 9; 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Wood County Historical Center
Join in on the fun of the fall tradition of building scarecrows. We provide the straw, string, support pole, and refreshments; you bring scarecrow clothes, decoration, and support for the scarecrow's back and arms (to attach to the display pole, if needed). You can take it home or enter it in our annual Scarecrow Contest to win cash prizes. Forms will be available at the workshop. Contest scarecrows will be left on display for our October 20th Folklore and Funfest at the Historical Center.
Scary Critters
Thursday, October 11; 6:30-8:00 p.m.
W.W. Knight Nature Preserve: Classroom
Spiders, bats, snakes, and owls get a bad reputation, especially around Halloween. You'll be amazed to find out what they're really like and not so scary after all. Take a short hike to look for some of them and make an owl mask or snake bracelet to take home.
