The North Baltimore Police Department and the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol (OHP) announced today that an OVI Checkpoint will be held in Wood County tomorrow (Saturday, May 24) evening.
The OVI Checkpoint, funded by federal grants funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
"Based on the provisional data, there were 453 OVI related crashes in which 494 people were killed in Ohio last year," Lieutenant Jerrod A. Savidge, Commander of the OHP Bowling Green Post said.
"The local police department in conjunction with the OHPatrol have recorded 39 total OVI incidences within the last five year," Chief Allan Baer.
The location of the checkpoint will be announced Saturday morning.
