NB water/Sewer Bill Explanation & Price Per Gallon
Posting Date: 05/28/2014

North Baltimore Mayor Mike Julien has provided a couple of spreadsheets that show the numbers and

an explanation of the "water bill" issue residents faced with the February through May bills.

But isn't this dodging the REAL question? While, yes, this is a nice, slick presentation of a breakdown of what we pay, shouldn't we also be asking why our "normal" baseline total bill (regardless if it's for water or sewer) is considerably higher than surrounding communities, some of which have even smaller tax bases and populations lower than NB? Clearly there is a disconnect (no pun intended) somewhere, as well as a better option. Appears to be one more misstep to add to the list made by Village leadership.

I don't think that the breakdown of charges is nearly as important to the residents as what the total bill is. We simply see our water bill as painfully it breaks down is totally irrelevant. WELL over $100.00 is just WAY too much no matter how it is "explained". It's just that plain and simple!

If any of you went to the last council meeting. Kathy Healy advised she didn't know the answers. She also said that she isn't in charge of overseeing the project. Which in my opinion she should be in charge. She is the administrator. Healy actually had no real answers for anyone at the last meeting. Citizens need to come up to the next council meeting and keep asking questions. It would also be nice if the water superintendent shows up to the next meeting as he has missed the last few.

69.79 is the current minimum charge even though I only used 1300 gallons on a 2000 gallon minimum you do the math . This has been going on since they started jacking up the rates !
