The Penta County Landscaping and Turf Management program worked at North Baltimore High School - Middle School, planting landscape plants in front of the building and in the front parking lot islands.
Those in assisting in the planting included:
Ron Matter, Penta Superintendent;
Jim Henline, Supervisor of Agricultural Program at Penta;
Jody Germann, Teacher of Landscaping and Turf Management at Penta, along with his wife Tricia and children Garrett and Gretchen;
Chris Snyder, NB Custodian (former Penta - Landscape Program) and his wife Jenn;
Bob Falkenstein, NB Principal;
Taylor Straley, NB Senior and Cheerleader, Penta student in Small Animal Care;
Josh Forbes, NB Junior and Penta student in Landscaping program;
Mr. Germann ordered $1500 worth of plants and trees at a discounted rate from North Branch Nursery in Pemberville, after carefully designing an overall plan. The project also included five yards of mulch.
Sunday (Oct. 28) another $500 worth of plants will be put in the ground to finish off the front of the school and on islands in the front parking area.
A water management plan is currently in development to ensure a good start to the fall planting season.
