Marlene K. North, Superintendent
Blizzard Bags Survey: We had almost 100 parents fill out the survey. We had 67% indicate that they were NOT a good idea and of the other options, 80% were in favor of make-up days during breaks. We had 49 staff fill out the survey with 69% supporting the use again. But if we didn’t use them, 55% said the best alternative is during breaks as well. I will pass the information on to our new superintendent to utilize as he sees best for upcoming years.
Powell School Supply Donation: We have once again been blessed by our anonymous donor to have school supplies purchased for our students in Preschool through Grade 6. What wonderful support this is for our students and their families to have this financial piece provided for them. We continue to have so much to be thankful for in North Baltimore!
Cygnet Turf: A big thank you to Cygnet Turf for the use of their equipment to get our practice football field (located south of the Middle/High School building) planted. I know the coach and team are looking forward to having practices right behind the school rather than traveling to
the elementary building.
Thank you, Cygnet Turf, and to Jim Casey who facilitated the work getting completed!
Regional Track: I want to wish Kenzie Carles and Megan Ernsberger, as well as Coach Hotaling, the best at Regionals tomorrow in Tiffin.
Congratulations to Our NB Students: I wanted to take this opportunity to share how proud I am of the accomplishments of so many of our NB students. We have students at Penta that ranked nationally in some of their competitions; we had an outstanding amount of money earned in scholarships for our graduating seniors; we had many students recognized at the MS/HS Awards Ceremony two weeks ago, and we will have Powell students recognized for their hard work and academic successes on Friday. In addition, we have very strong OGT scores from our sophomore class to celebrate that will represent NB so well. Nicely done, NB students!
Calendar: Reminder - we have sixth grade graduation tomorrow to celebrate our students moving to the Middle School. This will be at the elementary this year. I encourage our community to participate! Our last day for students is Friday, May 30th with our staff work day on Monday, June 2nd.
