Paddle the Pond

Every Monday from June - August

4:00-7:00 p.m.

W.W. Knight Nature Preserve

29530 White Road, Perrysburg

Take one of our canoes for a spin on the pond! If you have never canoed, this is a great way to give it a try. Canoes, paddles, life preservers and instructions are provided. There is no charge and we supply everything you need. Canoes will be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bonus: join a Park District ranger the first Monday of the month for more in-depth canoe instruction. No registration necessary.

National Wildlife Federation's Great American Backyard Campout

Saturday, June 28, 6:30 p.m.-Sunday, June 29, 10:00 a.m.

William Henry Harrison Park

644 Bierley Avenue, Pemberville

Come celebrate this great event in the Wood County Park District's "backyard." We will have activities throughout the evening, a campfire and s'mores, and a light breakfast in the morning. Participants need to supply their own tent and sleeping equipment. A limited amount of tents are available for borrowing. If you have questions call 419-661-1697 ext 1.

Family Fishing Night

Sunday, June 29; 7:00-8:00 p.m.

W.W. Knight Nature Preserve

29530 White Road, Perrysburg

Come out to the W.W. Knight Nature Preserve and try to catch the big one! A Ranger will be on hand to help first time fishermen with loaner poles and worms. Children must have adult supervision; adults must be accompanied by a child to fish.

Why Wetlands?

Wednesday, July 2; 7:00-8:15 p.m.

W.W. Knight Nature Preserve: Front Porch

29530 White Road, Perrysburg

A wetland is a valuable habitat for people and creatures large and small. We will be going in the wetland to look for critters, so make sure to bring water shoes that will stay on your feet and clothes to get wet and muddy!
