North Baltimore, OH - Chef-prepared meals are not what one expects from a traditional nursing home, but Briar Hill Health Campus is different. In honor of Veteran's Day and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Briar Hill invited residents' families and community members into the campus for a taste of what residents enjoy every day.
On November 8th, residents and their families were invited to enjoy a complimentary meal of traditional Thanksgiving fare - turkey, gravy, fresh corn, cornbread stuffing, cranberries, and of course, a variety of pumpkin desserts.
"We truly enjoy hosting this event for our residents and families each year - it's our way of thanking them for allowing us the privilege to care for their loved ones," said Samantha Kerner, Community Services Representative for Briar Hill Health Campus.
What's more is that the very next day, on November 9th, the campus welcomed local veterans and their families to the campus to feast on a delicious, chef-prepared brunch in honor of Veteran's Day. Attendees were treated to french toast, sausage, french-fried potatoes, and shredded chicken sandwiches. Prior to brunch, Veterans attended a special ceremony and received a certificate of appreciation for their service.

North Baltimore Veterans
"It is important for our local Veterans to know how much we appreciate them," said Kerner. "We want to thank them all for their service, and we'd also like to thank the North Baltimore Legion members who assisted with honoring our Veterans."
