ODOT D - 1 Work continues all over the place!

The following is the weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Allen County

Interstate 75 Reconstruction Project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org

Ohio 309

(Elida Road) between Pioneer Street and Eastowne Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Allen County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 81 between Bentley Road and the Hardin County line is now open following a culvert replacement.

U.S. 30/Ohio 309 near Delphos may be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for culvert work. Work is expected to be completed in late July. Work is being performed by Platinum Painting, Boardman.

Defiance County

Ohio 2 between Ohio 249 and Hicksville will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for tarring and chipping of the roadway. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 18 in the city of Defiance just east of the Ohio 15 (Ottawa Avenue) and Ohio 18 (East Second Street) intersection closed June 9 for two months for culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 281 and U.S. 24 back to Ohio 15/18. Traffic may also detour to Ohio 15/18 to Ohio 66, U.S. 24, to Ohio 281 back to Ohio 18. Work is being performed by Sand Ridge Excavating, Cloverdale.

Hancock County

U.S. 224 interchange at Interstate 75 reconstruction, Findlay The U.S. 224 interchange with Interstate 75, Findlay, is currently being reconstructed. The project began in February and is expected to be completed late this fall. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold. The following traffic impacts related to the reconstruction are in effect or will occur in the upcoming weeks:

Interstate 75 -Both the northbound and southbound lanes are narrowed and shifted approaching the U.S. 224 interchange. - Lane restrictions will continue both northbound and southbound for overhead work at the bridge. Restrictions will occur between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m.

U.S. 224 -The ramps on the south side of the interchange (northbound exit, southbound entrance) are scheduled to close July 14 for two weeks for reconstruction. Traffic will be detoured to the County Road 99 interchange and back. Once the south side ramps are open, the ramps on the north side of the interchange will close, also for two weeks (southbound exit, northbound entrance).

-Short-term, daytime lane closures should be expected throughout the week. Traffic maintained at times with flaggers.

-Traffic on the bridge over Interstate 75, Findlay, is traveling on the north half of the bridge, one lane in each direction with no turn lanes. All ramps at the interchange are currently open.

-Motorists are cautioned to watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting at various locations throughout the work zone on U.S. 224 and along the interchange ramps.

Interstate 75 between Ohio 235 and the city of Findlay will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair beginning July 14. Work will begin in the northbound direction, beginning at Ohio 235 and working north. Traffic restrictions will be in place during weekdays and will be removed on the weekends. Work is being performed by Becdir Construction, Berlin Center.

Ohio 15 eastbound approximately one mile west of Ohio 330 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for bridge deck repair one day during the week, likely Monday. The restriction will be in place from 7:30 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m. Work is being performed by the ODOT District 1 bridge department. Berm work will take place at the following locations during the week with traffic restricted to one lane through the work zone. Work is being performed by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage: -Ohio 235 between County Road 313 and McComb -Ohio 12 between the Putnam County line and Findlay

Ohio 568 between Blanchard Avenue in Findlay to County Road 180 is currently not restricted for pavement repair and resurfacing. The project is temporarily suspended to allow adjoining work by the city of Findlay to take place. The project will resume in September. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

Ohio 15 between U.S. 23 in Carey to Ohio 37 in Findlay is no longer restricted for resurfacing. Minor finish work is expected to have minimal effect on traffic. Work is being performed by Kokosing, Fredericksburg.

Hardin County

Ohio 31 from the Union County line to Ohio 292 will be restricted during pavement resurfacing which is scheduled to begin the week of July 14. Some work related to the project is expected to occur during the week with minimal impact to traffic. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

U.S. 68 from the Kenton corporation limit to the Logan County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. The project is expected to complete within the next week. Work is being performed by the Shelly Co., Findlay.

Paulding County

Ohio 114 at County Road 79 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage work. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 49 south of Payne will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for removal of raised pavement markers in preparation for tarring and chipping of the roadway which will begin July 14. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 49 in the village of Payne will close July 7 for approximately two weeks for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 500 and Ohio 111 back to Ohio 49. Work is being performed by Roadsafe Traffic.

U.S. 127 in the village of Latty just south of County Road 92 closed June 23 for approximately five days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 114, Ohio 637, and Ohio 613 back to U.S. 127. Work is being performed by Roadsafe Traffic.

Putnam County

Ohio 634 approximately one mile south of Cloverdale will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for ditch cleaning. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 65 approximately two miles north of Columbus Grove will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage repair. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 65 at the north edge of the village of Belmore is now open following a chemical spill.

Van Wert County

U.S. 224 from Van Wert to the Indiana line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone at various county and township road intersections for pavement work. Work is being performed by the Van Wert County ODOT maintenance garage

Wyandot County

Ohio 53 from the west corporation limit of the city of Upper Sandusky to Ohio 67, and from the courthouse in the city north to the Ohio 53/67 split is reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing. The project will continue until mid July. Work is being performed by Kokosing, Fredericksburg.

Ohio 15 between U.S. 23 in Carey to Ohio 37 in Findlay is no longer restricted for resurfacing. Minor finish work is expected to have minimal effect on traffic. Work is being performed by Kokosing, Fredericksburg.

U.S. 23 both northbound and southbound from just south of Ohio 182 to approximately two miles south of the village of Carey will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.
