Richard “Babe” Roach, age 85, of Findlay, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday (July 14, 2014) at Briar Hill Health Campus in North Baltimore, Ohio. He was born and raised in North Baltimore where he was known for his beautiful handcrafted kitchens, home remodeling and building of several homes in the North Baltimore, Bowling Green, and Findlay, Ohio area. Richard was born on July 3, 1929 to Clyde & Stella (Henry) Roach in North Baltimore, Ohio, where he married his high school sweetheart Audrie B. Rose on August 27, 1950.
Surviving Richard are his loving wife of 63 years, Audrie; son, Randy (Donna) Roach; daughter, Jill; grandchildren, Brian (Amanda), Matthew (Audra), and Jason; one great-grandchild; two great-grandchildren; sister Vina (Marvin) Krassow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde & Stella; brothers Jack, Dean, infant brother Charles; sister, Mae; infant grandson, Michael.
adult life, raising his children in church and visiting and witnessing to others. He touched the lives of many people with his love for the Lord and how he served the Lord. Babe definitely lived a life that honored God and encouraged others to seek him in a way that most people don’t ever accomplish in a life time. He will forever be remembered by his family, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Richard was a 1948 graduate of North Baltimore High School, and then served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Bowling Green State University as the Head of All Carpenter’s where he worked for over 20 years. Babe was a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, and served the Lord his entire
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Wednesday (July 16, 2014) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, with additional visitation from 10-11 AM on Thursday (July 17, 2014) at the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church at 11 AM on Thursday (July 17, 2014) with Pastor Mark E. Ralph officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Military Honors performed by the Albert Bowe American Legion Post # 338. Immediately following the service there will be a bereavement luncheon back at the Mt. Zion Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Portage Holiness Camp, or the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church. On line condolences may be sent to Babe’s family at
