The North Baltimore High School Lady Tigers travelled all the way to Attica, to battle Seneca East in an MAL battle of the Tigers. NB took a 7 point lead into the final period, but could not hang on for the win, as 3-pointers and foul shots and turnovers, were the difference.
NB held a 12 - 7 lead after the 1st; 28 - 23 at the half; and 41 - 34 after three. In what must have been a brutal 4th quarter, with extrapolation from the stat sheet, it appears SE turned up the defensive pressure, nailed key 3 - pointers and drained clutch free throws down the stretch.
2 point FG - NB was 19 of 39; SE was just 10 of 38.
3 point FG - NB was 1 of 8; SE was 6 of 12.
Free throws - NB was 12 of 22; SE was 19 of 30.
Turnovers - NB 34; SE 27
Rebounds - NB 33; SE 21
Ricci Emahiser led the Tigers with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Megan Wright scored 10 points, with 6 steals and 6 assists. MacKenzie Stewart, Courtney Bretz and Olivia Frost scored 6 points each. Reagan Fleckner added 5, Morgan Schloemp added a foul shot.
NB drops to 3 - 5 overall.
The Junior Varsity Lady Tigers picked up a win, in a tight one, 27 - 25. |
