St. Luke’s Lutheran Church -- the week of Sunday, September 7
“Love” is Pastor Ralph Mineo’s sermon topic at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in North Baltimore on Sunday, September 7 at 10:15 a.m. The sermon is based on Paul’s teachings about love in his letter to the Romans, chapter 13.
Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:00 a.m.
A new Confirmation Class of 7th graders and above will begin during the Sunday School hour. This is a two-year study of the basics of the faith and Scripture. Because Pastor Ralph is begins leading 8:00 a.m. worship and preaching at St. John’s, McComb (the sermon title is also “Love”), Jo Mineo will teach the Confirmation Class until he arrives,
at about 9:30.
Following worship on September 7, the St. Luke’s current Confirmation class will have a “final retreat” to prepare for the Rite of Confirmation in October. The retreat will begin with lunch at noon and will end with supper at 7:00.
The SLCW (St. Luke’s Church Women) will meet on Tuesday, September 9 at 6:30 at the Iron Skillet Restaurant. A meeting will follow the meal to make plans for the organization’s ministry.
On Wednesday, September 10 the Junior Choir begins rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. and will be joined by the Senior Choir at 6:45 to prepare for a combined anthem the following Sunday (which will include a visit by Bishop Marcus Lohrmann of the Northwestern Ohio Synod).
