Boredom is never on the agenda at Briar Hill Health Campus thanks to Linda Newlon, Briar Hill’s Resident Activities Director and her team.
Seven days a week, 365 days a year, this team of three is responsible for enhancing the lives of Briar Hill’s residents by creating memorable and engaging activities, events and outings. While Linda and her team thrive on focusing on the residents, this week the tables were turned as they were recognized during National Activity Professionals Week (January 21st - January 27th).
To say Linda and her team are dedicated to Briar Hill is an understatement. Linda has served the residents of Briar Hill for 25 years, and her activity associates, Mary Beth Seiber and Jen Frackler, have been a part of the Briar Hill team for six years and five years respectively. While they plan a number of activities from small group and individual programs to community events, their favorite times are when they take residents out to lunch or to shop at Wal-Mart on the campus bus. They also enjoy holding Lifelong Learning courses, coordinating Wii games, and holding ice cream socials.
“The best part of my job is being with the residents,” commented Ms. Newlon. “Not only do I get to teach them things, but I learn so much from them as well”

Briar Hill thanks and recognizes Linda, Mary Beth and Jen for their servants’ hearts and their unwavering dedication to making every day special for the residents of Briar Hill.
