October 13, 2014, Bowling Green -- Wood County Hospital is presenting a men’s health program entitled, Avoiding, Detecting and Curing Prostate and Colon Cancers on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the WCH meeting rooms.
The featured speaker is Robert S. Lavey, M.D., radiation oncologist and medical director of the Maurer Family Cancer Care Center at Wood County Hospital. Dr. Lavey will discuss the causes of prostate and colon cancers, how to detect them and the latest treatments. Free refreshments and health screenings will take place from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. The presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The program is part of the Barbershop Talks series, a free men’s health and wellness program for those who want to take action to improve the quality of their lives.
