TOLEDO, Ohio, Feb. 21, 2013 –Today ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital announced the end of flu visitation restrictions.
Last month, ProMedica put restrictions in place at all its hospitals and long-term care facilities due to an increasing number of flu cases in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. To protect the safety of patients and healthcare employees, visitors with flu-like symptoms or under 18 years old were not permitted inside ProMedica facilities, unless they required medical treatment.
“Fortunately, the number of flu cases in the area have declined,” says Brian Dick, corporate director, ProMedica Infection Prevention and Control. “However, I encourage people to still continue to practice good hand hygiene methods to help reduce the spread of the virus.”
