Steady and sustained, high winds this afternoon are causing problems throughout the area, as limbs and even a tree have been brought to the ground.
In North Baltimore, Ohio, a North Tarr Street home suffered minimal damage, when a tree snapped and toppled.
The home is next to the CSX Mainline in NB, and is used to noises and bangs, day and night. When a neighbor and the homeowner heard the noise, they initially thought it was some of the usual railroading noises. But further investigation revealed a good size tree, the only shade on the southside of the home, down in the front yard, having clipped the front porch and yanking down the cable line.
NB Police Chief Allan Baer said that several large limbs have been felled this afternoon. With more winds, storms and rains on the way, residents should be aware of being under or parking under large trees throughout the village.
The tree succumbed to the strong south winds.
Damage to the front porch roof.
NB Police and Fire responded to the scene to ensure that there were no live wires or any structural damage.
