Bowling Green, OH: On October 6, Wood Lane celebrated the retirement of Jo Lynn Snyder. Jo Lynn retired after sixteen years of employment at Wood Lane as a Food Service Assistant.

Prior to her employment at Wood Lane, Jo Lynn worked at the Bowling Green Friendly’s Restaurant, Bowling Green Taco Bell and North Baltimore McDonalds. In 1998, she began working in the Wood Lane Cafeteria and has not looked back. Jo Lynn says she enjoyed the people she worked with and she loved the work she did.

Jo Lynn is excited for retirement, but her coworkers are reluctant to say goodbye. “We will miss her genuine spirit and joyful smile. Jo Lynn is a beautiful person all around. She’s someone that makes you feel good by just talking with her,” said supervisor Jan Hehl. Co-worker Sandra Leuck commented, “Jo Lynn brings

out the best in everyone and puts a little bit of sunshine in all of our lives…she will be good at whatever comes her way in the future.”

Just shy of 63 years old at her retirement party, Jo Lynn is not a stranger to celebrating life milestones with Wood Lane. She was a 1972 graduate of Wood Lane School. She actively participates in the Wood County Special Olympics, where she has won over 30 medals, locally and internationally.

Although she is retiring from her position at Wood Lane, Jo Lynn has no intentions of saying goodbye. She plans to stay active in Special Olympics and other programs offered through the organization after she does a bit of traveling. “Wood Lane is her life, and always will be” said her sister Debbie Patterson.
