St. Luke’s Lutheran Church
“The Faith We’ve Been Given” is Pastor Ralph Mineo’s sermon topic at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in North Baltimore on Sunday, October 26 at 10:15 a.m.
Five members of the congregation: Noah Cotterman, Steven Eninger, Marly McCartney, Hunter Wymer, Kole Wymer will be admitted to the “Rite of Confirmation also called “The Rite Affirmation of Baptism” in the Lutheran tradition. On this “Reformation Sunday” (a significant day in Lutheran history marking the posting of Martin Luther’s 95 Theses) these five members will become “adult members” of the congregation. Each Confirmand will share their Life-Verse, their personal profession of faith with the congregation, and will serve as worship assistants. The five Confirmands selected the hymns, Scripture readings, and Pastor Mineo’s rendition of Psalm 23. A reception for the Confirmands will follow worship.
Members of the congregation will also participate in an area-wide “Reformation Worship Service” at 3:30 on October 26 at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Arlington. Pastor Mineo, Dean of the Central Conference of the Northwestern Ohio Synod, will give a presentation: “The Significance of the Reformation: Then and Now.”
